HAMILTON--Canadian Thunderbirds 16s and 18s both of Hamilton captured for only the second time, both the Junior and Senior titles in the12th Annual CanAm International Elite Baseball Tournament honouring the late broadcaster Bill Sturrup, today (Sunday) in Bernie Arbour Memorial Stadium. UNIVERSITY SHOWCASE TOURNAMENT

Kids and Parents, Here is a little something for your Bio, or scrap books. I just want to say to all of you who have played your hearts out so honourably, Thanks for making all of us Parents so proud these last 2 weekends!!!! You guys are awesome 12-0.

To Tex who found the patients and pride to take these boys to prove that they can shine in between those white lines. Thank you! To Adam who put the spark back into the bench, making these players feel good about the team, and giving this team serious magic in that dugout. Keep it up! Thank you to Roland who has done all anyone can do to help make these boys feel better, by icing and treating all their sores, keeping them cool and from loosing their focus. Great Job! And let's not forget about the important score keepers, The Patzalek's! Tony and Marianne for keeping the coaching staff informed of all the inning to inning situations. It takes everyone to make a team Jell like this, including all us foolish screaming Parents in the stands. When we can, Let's get our butts out and cheer them on.

This team is bound for Glory, Boys.... keep your team play..... your concentration..... and your focus!!! There is nothing that "THE CANADIAN THUNDERBIRDS" cannot achieve this Summer. Let's go for the gold GUYS.

TBirds 18U WIN Founders Cup

The Canadian Thunderbirds Senior team won the Founders Cup Tournament this past weekend, going undefeated at 5-0. The team won due to strong pitching and flawless defense, only giving up three runs the entire weekend.

The winning pitchers for the weekend were; Devin Karlsen, Tyler Bradley, Max Clarke; David "Boomer" Huckso, and Ryan Van Spronsen, who threw a two hitter in a 1-0 win over Team Ontario in the Final. Top Offensive performers were: Tyler Patzalek, Wes O'Neill, Ryan Van Spronsen, Boomer Hucsko, Ryan Sharpe, Kellen Harrigan, Tyler Bradley, and Jordan Windisch, all with multiple hits. It was a great team performance, and well deserved.

TBirds 16U REACH SEMI FINALS

I would just like to make a short note of congratulations also to the Junior team for their outstanding comeback and performance in Tennessee this past weekend. It takes alot of character and teamwork and to fight to a third place finish when you are always in a must win situation!! ( Picture )

STAR PLAYERS OF TOMORROW

Canadian Thunderbirds' own Wes O'neill: "I remember the day he (his father) pulled me aside and told me that the sky was the limit... My dad had come to my games and he helped me get to where I am today in baseball, in school and in everything. Now he's gone."
